@pressbrake1 Hi Clive, can you remind me what the size/throat is on these, wanted to work out max panel size I could use one for. Was trying it find the original thread but can't locate it.

Can you get a flue liner small enough to fit in a pre cast though? I had thought the size of the precast would be too small for a liner - or are you thinking run a liner up the build out into the roof ?

Not quite a wood burner but.......
Our new househas a precast flue (the ones going up the cavity) which everyone is telling us means we can only fit a slimline "old fashioned looking" gas fire due to the limited depth of the fireplace
We want to do something much more modern by creating a...
Agreed, for example I would love to learn wheeling but after 5 years of looking the chances of finding a wheel I can afford other than buying one of Clives ones is remote:( so for me that is a limited audience, whereas the more "accessible" skills like panel beating, metal shaping, lead loading...
Restarted the overhaul on my T25, stripped the front suspension and tried blasting it.
2 weeks later....... decided to upgrade the blaster cabinet so made one of the popular YouTube metering valve mods and added a cyclone dust extractor setup using a bucket
Actually made a big...
I do restore classic cars as a hobby and have taught myself basic panel beating, metal shaping, lead loading and some paint. But....... there is a big difference between watching a youtube video and having multiple goes yourself (which I have and do enjoy when I have the time) and getting hands...
Nice, given me a few ideas as I have multiple old axle stands and keep putting off buying wheel dollies as they're so expensive:(
I might be inclined to put castors on them though given how heavy the axles are?

MM
I've got a couple on my Bradbury, both made by "majorlift" You can just about make them out in this post https://www.mig-welding.co.uk/forum/threads/bradbury-series-40-4-post-lift-manual.87481/page-3#post-1863146
The "ears" are adjustable to fit different width ramps
The yellow one runs on...
Yes I think Mk2 still in bits unfortunately but was the main reason for doing the scraping course.
Wouldn't say there was much that looked handmade, the most impressive thing was the mahoosive oiler thingy, it was like a huge octopus :o
Hi Brad, probably will not be a lot of new stuff to a man of your experience but here is a link to the strip down of mine. https://www.model-engineer.co.uk/forums/postings.asp?th=91397
Some particularly obstinate parts of the table leadscrew had me foxed for a while :o

Can't add anything to what @ajlelectronics has said really, I use it direct onto bare metal as well, that gives you maximum protection, then do my filling etc ontop. Then use a stopper or hi build primer depending on what the panel needs.
Only thing I would say is think about your breathing...
L322 TDV8 are great cars if looked after/have had the right fixes done- mine has just ticked over 125k and is awesome but......... you won't find one worth having for your budget unless it is stellar miles I'm afraid. Decent 100k+ cars are currently running £10-14k, like most vehicles prices...
thanks for the advice. I will try giving the lenses a clean with IPA but if that doesn't improve things will look into the cost of a service:thumbup:

I know a few on here are into their optics so was after a bit of advise on how far you can go with cleaning bins yourself.
Just bought a new set as a Christmas present for daughter and having read some posts on here went for a set of Steiner 8x32. When I tried them the light and clarity was...
This is the style of railing although this one has square bar infills rather than round bar.
Spec is 1.1m high with 40 mm SHS posts and 12 mm solid round bar infills with convex handrail powder coated in black
