Only said it was from memory BOC Safety course, think it has something to do with the dominoe affect first person collapses his mate goes to help does the same etc
Are you welding in a building with little ventilation because you may be feeling the early signs of asphixiation which is similar to carbon minoxide poisoning in that you feel tired and suffer headaches so open any window/doors to get a through flow of air.More people are killed by inert gases...
Eutectic used to make a system that fitted on an oxy acetylene torch that used to build up a layer of metal on case hardened shafts.I have one of these kits laying somewhere that was rescued from the skip when a workshop closed. The process was I think called metal spraying.Have never done it due...
Try to buy the genuine Mann filters as the filter elements are similar to the ones used in the paving equipment I work on. Tried the rest and the fit and life of the Mann filters is superior.Only other comparable brand is Donaldson not sure if they make an equivalent element.Keep the compressor...
oben/top is there so that the dirt trap is at the bottom and when the suction is released as the engine stops the two flaps open and the dirt is released
Engine is oil cooled so keep the oil cooler on the top of the engine clean and regularly check the fan belt.Fuel lift pumps can also be short lived on these engines
DEUTZ 1011 engine . Have the timing belt replaced regardless .Not a job to do if you have no deutz engine experience as special tools required and a workshop manual is over £100.Correct tension of the belt is important and requires a belt tension gauge deutz tool around £400 but a good quality...
Its all an issue of cost if you intend to run the welder as a vintage engine then fine you may be able to have the mag rewound or modify a villiars mag to do the job then fine but it may be more cost effective to fit a latter 374 engine which are not so rare with spares still available.
Had a thought yesterday if you do have to work on the mag and remove the flywheel make sure you mark the keyway that is used as there are two cut in the flywheel which may be marked L or R as this engine will run clockwise or anticlockwise also make sure you only undo the flywheel nut half way...
One other thing I have just noticed is the carburettor type.Yours has a butterfly type but all the 372/374 engines ive seen have a Bing slide type as fitted to bmw motorbikes so yours may be an early model also if the wires are connected try disconnecting them as they may be the wires off the...
Just looked at the photos again and see that where the blanking plug in the alternator side of the cylinder head is there should be a small priming tap to put a small amount of petrol into the cylinder to help starting, also the fuel tank and filter is missing, the tank was a large rectangular...
Have one of these engines coupled to the original Hayter mighty midget. The welder was given to me with a worn big end bearing. After much searching I was informed that the crankshaft could only be purchased as a service exchange unit and that these were unavailable but managed to find probably...
In the course of my business I often get asked to repair industrial size waste containers and have aquired a lot of knowledge of castor types. The picture seems to show a 80mm dia approx unbraked castor wheel with non marking grey rubber tyre so called because it does not leave black marks on...
Well said Matt agree totally always had a high regard for Lorch but it always seemed your distribution network in the UK never was very wide,a similar thing could be said of INE another good brand. Also the following post was spot on the money
I wonder if Inverweld has had any experience as an end user of some of these Chinese products. In my experience all have under performed and have all been branded by a well known company who should in no way be using suppliers of poor provenance.Hydraulic jacking equipment that is not strong...
As I have mentioned in another post most major western manufacturers have been active in Chinese manufacturing for at least a decade either backing local manufacturers or setting up manufacturing plants to produce previous generation products for the local market, also any product that requires...
Welding operations services ,not sure but sounds like the company that makes Murex saffire and Butbro gas equipment in Chech Republic or Slovakia
Private equity so not much investment just keep making the same thing and if we can make it cheaper and it sells all the better.
Murex did have their rods made at one time by a Portugese manufacturer called Electro Arco but even this company has set up a factory making mig wire in India. This should work in theory as long as they have their own personnel running the factory and doing regular quality control. With Chinese...
Typical! when I started in the industry Oerlikon rods were highly regarded and you still hear comments like Oerlikon made good rods but the boss would not pay the price so from a accountants point of view going to China made sense but we all know accountants know sod all about the value of...
