I have a CNC plasma table. It comprises a Hypertherm 45 cutter, X,Y, and Z drives connected to a (Russian!) break out board that is driven by Ethernet Cat5 cable from a Compac PC running Mach. The drives, power supplies, break out board are in an industrial cabinet.
It’s all worked well for...
For years now the son of a friend of mine flails that hedge every Boxing Day morning at some god awful early hour using a massive John Deere tractor. Says it's the quietest time for traffic, but I've a suspicion it's more to do with getting away from the family after Christmas !
That's what I thought but Sussex Police don't agree.
However the NFU have been brilliant, and have said I AM covered as it's impact damage not storm damage and are taking up the cudgles on my behalf.

It seems to have happened at about 10.30 in the evening so quite likely drink was involved, BUT they may simply have had a tyre blow out.
The near side front is definitely flat now, but I'm amazed it made it 1.3 miles down the road. Tyre marks on my verge show that it was reversed off then...
Not me but persons unknown - came down to this mess Saturday morning
That used to be a post and rail fence with stock fencing faced with 3 foot close boarded fencing. Much pulped and the rest shifted down the road a bit.
Vehicle must have left the road mounted the verge, wiped out my verge...
When I needed to blast the steelwork of my barn it was cheaper to buy a second hand Hodge Clemco set up than hire a firm to do it. It has subsequently proved extremely useful for several projects.
It will 'ginger' as you call it anyway unless you lock it away in an anhydrous room! After blasting the steel is practically 'chemical clean' and thus very reactive. There are commercial additives for steam cleaners that will protect from flash rusting (as I call it) for several days but a mild...
My front gate pillars are 10" x 6" RSJ's with horizontal extentions to take the gate hinges beyond the brick cladding. The hollow brick cladding is filled with concrete vibrated into place.
As we are on soft ground the base of the vertical RSJ's have a third RSJ welded to them joining them...
I charged my Gooloo 4000A on 19th January. 20th Jan I started my Discovery 2 TD5 which had a totally flat battery. Yesterday I started my propane Hyster Fork Lift Truck - again totally flat battery - the Gooloo is still showing 100% charged.
I'm well pleased with it.
I re-made that 1" male 14 TPI to 1/2" UNF female adaptor that I screwed up yesterday - honour satisfied
How do you like my crude method of measuring an internal thread. This is M16 x 1.75 pitch - nice and non-standard and although I have the thread gauges they are blooming hard to read...
Following on from the ex @winchman large bearing pullers I needed to equip them with suitable studs etc to actually pull things.
Now the threads on both sizes are rather odd. The smaller one is M16 x 1.75 pitch which is a standard metric fine alternative but rather rare M16 fine usually being...
Sorry to differ @Seadog but it's electrical conduction that matters. Brass, Aluminium and Zinc have been melted quite satisfactorily in my Induction Furnace.
Circulating currents induced into the 'shorted turn' that the charge represents does the melting.
@winchman kindly sold me some large bearing separators which arrived today. As advertised they were a bit rusty so a couple of hours on the wire wheel and they are looking a lot more presentable. The sharp edge on one will need a bit of dressing or squashing on the hydraulic press, but these...
Joe's quite a chap and finds the most amazing things!
That video quite cheered me up this morning - would love to know the background to that Landrover.
When I sold my last place the potential buyer firstly got shirty over a TPO on a large Cedar tree in next doors garden which I told him (truthfully) I'd got placed to prevent it being converted into a nursing home (insufficient parking), then he started on the electrics demanding this and that...
No, only if the start rose loop in returns to the finish rose loop out, which I've only seen when the sparky has got confused.
By your description the roses are loop to loop, not a ring.
