Im wanting to make a security gate for my unit and i was looking into case hardening and fancied a go. My question though is....If i cut a load of box section, then case harden it, would i still be able to weld it all together without and trouble ?? Cheers in advance
Another update on this. Dont shout at me but i went for the easy 'patch' route as this project has been put on hold for ages now and im just not experienced enough to be chopping bits out just yet. Anyway here's how it turned out

Grinded back the outer layer and its not actually too bad. The inner layer is very solid. Im really struggling to find any mobile welders in my area to come and do it so it looks like i may have to at least attempt to do it myself.

Regarding cutting out the section and then but welding panels in. Would i try and chop the out skin seperate to the inner or just lop the whole bit out in one?? Cheers again for advice so far

We've been having a play around with the compressor, sandblasting gear and spray guns and it all seems to be working nicely. I have a couple of old aluminium manifolds and rocker covers im wanting to blast and spray. We did a test on one with some high temp stuff from halfords and it turned out...
I only bought the filter/regulator mate as i didnt think an oiler would be a good idea with a pressure pot. I do want to run air tools from the comp too. Would it be a better idea running a seperate line for that ? Cheers
Whats the deal with oilers/lubricators ?? I bought a filter-regulator from machine mart to use with the sandblaster. I assume you only need an oiler if your running air tools ? And if i did get one could it be used with the sandblaster connected ? Ta
