the reason i asked is because i asked someone i know who used to be a welder to see if he could weld the bit above the door frame:

and to be honest i think i could have done better[thats saying...
is there a tool that i can use to get at welds/paint that are in 90degree corners? as with a 4" angle grinder i cant get anywhere near them.

At the moment I'm using an old black&decker workmate type thingy, and a hobby vice on a kitchen worktop in my wooden shed.
Wifey & offspring keep laughing at me as when I [attempt to] weld I keep setting...
not sure if its standard, had a look on my other cf and that bits like a normal door surround, looking at the profile pic, its just the long downwards bit that will actually need welding to the cab, then its pop riveted onto the fibre glass
body.
i think its just supposed to be a weather seal...
this is whats left of my o/s door surround at the top.
would this be the the best way to tackle it?
what I was thinking is make up the profile and tack/weld in onto a piece which would go acroos the doorway, then try and weld that bit by a series of tack welds across the seam, with a few...
hi all been practising with my new mig welder, sip cosmo 130 gas/gasless and seem to be doing better than with my arc.
using gasless/fluxed wire?
however, i seem to be getting a lot of spattering and im not sure if this is down to technique, also when practising i have played with the wire...
have found this on ebay and was wondering if this would be sitable for use on car body work

Thanks Malcolm, the only other bad bit is the n/s step, its more or less gone away from the body, but will do that when im a bit better at welding
