I then cleaned the work I did yesterday with a wire brush and flap wheel to see what was what.
Then I gave it another go. Alot better in places. I found it was worse in any metal that was pitted.
I am getting hacked off with not being able to see what I am uploading on my phone. Time to switch to the laptop.
OK, i am back. The welds were better, but not the greatest. It was very difficult to get the torch where i wanted while on my back with a just enough room to get my head and hand in there.
I did the best i could then cleaned it all up with a wire brush and flap wheel, then zinc primer (electrox) then PU sealer. I know i left a hole in it, but this bit is not really structural, and the thread hole has welds on both sides which got good penetration
