im planning to build a dinning room table that will consist of a glued up oak top. I'm having this manufactured for me and will be supplied sanded to a 150 grit finish.
Can anyone recommend a suitable finish? I've used wax on smaller projects but this may not be durable enough. I've also seen polyurethane varnish, seems good from what I've read but can it be buffed to a shine with a car polishing buffing machine and suitable bonnet.
If not any other suggestions welcome.
