Had a frantic phone call from my missus to say that she was at the traffic lights in the centre of town and the car had died and refused to start, lights on the dash but no starter turning when operating the key.
I got her to check what warning lights were on the dash, its a 2006 Hyundai Tucson, and the only unusual one was the immobiliser light.
By the time I got to her some workmen had kindly pushed her car round the corner and she tried starting it again and it fired up perfectly, no warning lights on the dash.
We have booked it in to the local garage which is owned by a friend of ours and he is going to stick it on the diagnostics but I wonder if the remote fob could have been triggered while it was swinging on its key ring as I have repaired it before after one of the tactile switches came off.
If it is the fob and we have to get a replacement how do you go about it without using the main stealers?
At the moment she is locking the car using the key which operates the central locking but not the alarm.
