I did a garage clear out today, among the thing i got was a few packets of rods, some had really no chance of using(wet, dampness etc) but quite a few were ok.
Ones i'm not sure about are a box of these
But as i took them all out of the box most of them had a sort of white powdery dusting over them(left rod)
with a gentle rub with some wire wool they came up ok(right rod)
The coating seems solid and intact not brittle or falling off as you get when being wet or damp
is it worth cleaning them all up and putting is an oven for a few hours then store to be used again.
As far as i'm aware they're over 5 years old?
