So i've been gasless welding a while now, and can produce proper nice welds with the stuff.
BUT
Recently I bought a new roll of wire from screwfix, and It's Different!!!
Normally the gasless wire produces a white powder that coats everything around it.
The new wire is more like ARC welding and produces a proper slag over the top that covers the weld.
I'm having trouble using it.
The new wire will get good penetration, but will not melt in nicely on the edged of the weld and I struggle to stop it blowing through on thin material.
can anyone advise me on the differences, and what I might need to do?
