I've a couple of red 45 & 90 degree magnetic clamps which I don't like and rarely use.
They're weak (I bought the strongest I could), clumsy and just attract grinding dust and welding rod stubs.
In other words, they're a bit rubbish.Then if they do hold the metals together adequately it messes with the actual welding because they're magnets.
While having a general browse for welding clamps for making typical light fabrication and repair jobs easier I found these:

The mini angle is the one that particularly interests me as I mainly do 90 degree work, and can't think of any times when I've wanted to do a specific 60, 75 etc. I like the look of the bigger earth one as it's also stronger though.
These look like they should actually be capable of holding work pieces where you want them.
I realise that magnets will always be an issue with welding, but if the clamps stay clean and actually hold the metal properly I could live with that for tacking up.
