Hi all,
After been dismayed at the results of some welds with some 3.2mm 6013 I had lying about a week or so back I tried some bohler 4mm 7018 Fox ev50? I bought a while back for 99p after the guys welder wouldn't run them, they've just been stored in a plastic box so will need baking if used in anger.
By eck they are worlds apart, light up easier and the beads are nice with no issues.
I did have a lot of undercut on the top side of the welds on a fillet? weld I tried, all plate was 6mm and amps were about 160/170 (rods state between 130-180)
This is maybe my 3rd attempt at mma, all of which have been short lived as i just have a bash when i run out of gas and want something to do...!
Pic of the fillet:-
Pic of the beads, was starting to run a pad so top and bottom have two beads (not a straight one in sight mind!)
Close up of the top bead.
The other end of the fillet.
