Well it had to happen, been sitting on the side for some time taking in lots of good tips and info so here goes at my attempt at panel beating or stretching shrinking
Well this also had to happen, fiberglass petrol tank, new ethanol fuel result very spongy leaking tank.
I did try one of the advertised sealers and followed the instructions to the letter it lasted just over twelve months
So my options. 1 seal again. 2 ebay indian repro. 3 british handmade quality tank
1, seal again ,didn't work the first time why should it work a second time
2, Indian repro ,lots of stories of ill fitting or leaking tanks
3, british tank , expensive
Or make my own , well I have the indian or chinese hammers and dollies
and I have a tank as as a template
so why not give it a go, if all goes wrong all I have lost is the price of the sheet steel, I can always get one of those Indian tanks Tucking fork made and lots of tucks, oh and made an English wheel s The base of the tank tacked up so this is about 4 weeks into this build and I don't think I'm any where near finished, got the indent for the logos not to mention welding the whole thing up
When I get everything lined up and tacked will post again. any tips or tricks would be welcome otherwise will stumble on
