I have a cheapo cut 40 plasma cutter, I have not used it a great deal so im not sure on travel speed, amps compaied to material thickness and air ppressure. I want to practice my arc welding so I got my hands on a big bit of 7mm sheet to cut into strips and weld multiple joints. I set the machine at 40a and about 60 psi and the cut was not straight in the sence it was cutting the metal at an angle. I usef a roller guide and ran it down the side of a bit of wood I had clamped on so I know the torch was true to the work piece. I also had fresh consumables. Is this user error or just the nature of a budget machine?
I also noticed that running at 40a the 13a plug did not blow? Guess it needs a 16a supply as it had a 16a plug from new?
Is the machine capable of cutting 10mm? A friend has a brake disc he wants cutting into quarter for something he is making. Does not to be neat cuts
