Our factory has it's own in house R&D which employs around 40 electronics and software engineers, we have specialists for writing and developing synergic lines, high speed cameras capable of taking 25k frames a second as things like that are a definite requirement for making high quality pulse synergic lines. In some ways lorch are lucky due to the region of Germany, where we are located. The world head quarters for Mercedes and Porsche and then a lot of high end German brands like Siemens, Karcher, Trumpf, Bosche etc etc all have major presence in that region. So it makes no sense for lorch to invest in folding, cutting, bending equipment because there are 100's of tier 1 & 2 suppliers who could do that much cheaper, faster, easier that we could so we source all things like that from local companies other than lorch. With things like the PC boards, we will design them in house, make the first few 100/1000 to prove the design and then farm the order out to local suppliers who specialise in PC board manufacturer. Obviously things like Dinse sockets, potentiometers, on/off switches etc etc are not made in house either so that's what I meant by an Assembly plant. Rather than the idea of factories of days gone by that used to literally start with raw material and begin from there right through to the finished article
