30 years ago Mother was worried about security after Dad died so I made this and a swinging strut for the lock side.
Son was into electronic security and thought that bespoke steel behind glass with a broken glass detector would sell well and started making grills for doors, windows and roof lights to this design.
Notes taken on the first few grills resulted in a program in a calculator that accepted opening dimensions and steel thickness and produced exact lengths. Good sales patter in those days and it did save time.
The welds are simple, suitable for practice with any welder and a local advertisement might earn enough to make it interesting?
