Afternoon guys .
I am starting the process of machining a cast backplate for my lathe. After some research my headstock spindle thread is 1 1/4 9tpi BSWF . British standard whitworth fine. My machine is set for 9tpi BSW. I have checked with a BSW gauge and you can just start to see the pitch change. How does a lathe compensate for fine variations of threads.
