Surprisingly no the T burner as a single can run for many days of work off a 47kg.What size gas bottle will you run that off, I’m sure that will want draw gas off pretty fast.
I built a little single burner one a while back. Started using it more than the coal .@Kent this is quite interesting what size is the forge you use its something I have been thinking about quite seriously on a hobby DIY basis I made quite a few things on the forge a lot of years ago when at school

These aren't cheap 3/4" burners are around £80 (2015 price). But these can be tuned to have a neutral flame from low pressure through to high pressure.
I made several burners from pipe fittings which ended up costing around £30 each. There was then the time spent tuning them.

Could you just butt the tube up to the fitting and weld it? I'm guessing you won't be dismantling it much?If you had access to a pipe threading machine such a build would be even cheaper
