Ive a "new" secondhand rear body tub coming for my Nissan Navara so I can get one blasted/cleaned/repaired and painted/rustproofed etc and swap mine over in the summer. Ive no garage space left so will have to work outside. this and picking up a load good second hand timber from a house down the road thats being restyled has got me thinking of putting a carport type shelter up to give me a dry area outside, running down the side of the house extension and down to the garage.
Im thinking along the lines of
wallplate along the kitchen extension.
beam from the back of the extension to the front of the garage on joist hangers.
extensions to the wooden fenceposts to support beam/gutter fascia at the fence side.
corrugated clear sheeting with the slope from the house to the fence side.
the only pitfall I can see is that unless it clears the little tiled roof bit over the doors on the garage, which may not be feasible due to the height of the extension at the back wall end, I,'ll have to remove it and brick up the opening over the doors.
any thoughts/suggestipons/advice ?
I did a approach a couple of bespoke carport manufacturers but we were talking the £3000 plus mark
