Hi all, i have a rather antique but good sealey supermig 180. I have a problem started which is that if the welder is switched on and i touch the earth clamp (or obviously the car or workpiece its attached to) i get a rather nasty belt off it. Sometimes its a slight tingle but other times it gives a hell of a belt usualy resulting it headbutting the underside of a car and choise words being said. The welder works perfectly otherwise. The only other think ive noticed is that if you touch the workpiece with the wire it will give off small sparks (without trigger pressed). Does anybpdy have any ideas what it could be or had this issue before?
Thanks,
James
