Hi All,
The little Lincoln is working well again (thanks to help from some kind souls here), shame I'm not as good. ;-(
Part of that is also part of my question, 'should I be able to see what I'm welding when I'm welding'?
I have an automatic / adjustable helmet that cost me £100 when I bought the welder in 98, a 'Translight Vario' FWIW.
I can see fine though the helmet pre sparking up and I can see the arc itself but not the surrounding material in most cases, meaning the weld bead direction is mostly from memory / guesstimation. ;-(
Is this just how it is for everyone or is there something wrong with the helmet / suitability please? I don't remember it being so vauge when I used the welder years ago? Maybe it's my 59 year old eyes? ;-(
Cheers, T i m
