Just had a letter from HMRC about my Income Tax for next year starting April 6th.
The useless sods have it that I've still got the job I left last May, as well as the job I started in June.... so they've applied an "adjustment to tax rate band" so that my allowance is slashed & I'll pay a boatload more income tax for 2024-25 .
The dopey crowd think I have 2 full-time jobs
The .GOV website & "Government Gateway" is singularly unhelpful. It tells you how to tell them you should pay more - but not a single link or method to contact them to get them to correct their error & plans to overcharge!
So now I'm stuck on phone waiting for over half-an-hour so far, to try to get through to some civil servant who is no doubt still enjoying coffee & a chat in the canteen - so I'm losing work stooping around on hold.
Grrr!
