A taster, part-way through rebuilding the back panel below the rear lights. It had had a back end prang before I bought it, and I don't think it was ever repaired properly. The sills were gone because they're covered in plastic and invisible, and I never thought to check.Youll have to post up some pics
I loved the door handles on those!I also used to like my fiats, never had one but got the horn for a Strada Abarth 130TC

New cars are safer for the people inside but far more dangerous for the ones outsideBut I bet all would be amazed at the visibility around the slim screen pillars. Climb out of an old car and then realise how much ducking and diving you have to do to see around modern screen pillars, complete with air bags etc
The Snowmans artic probably had a higher top speed
She played at a concert local to me 6 or 7 years ago, wow! She still had it!!Suzi Quattro? That zip, honestly.
Wasn't in America they experimented with wire insulation made from plants? Seem to recall rabbits ate a load of looms of brand new, unsold cars.
Could you be thinking of Kapton? Shocking stuff, didn't go well in aircraft!!!The Scorpio and cars of its age. The insulation was made of something unusual, so maybe the same stuff. It just cracked and fell off the wire when exposed to any heat.
This was my engine loom before rebuilding it:

Is that one your's @fizzy ?My other favourite 80s car I was lucky enough to own. They described it as the poor man's Aston Martin. The Rover SD1 Vitesse. As used by Tom Walkinshaw in touring car.
I loved mine. I also had the 2.6 SD1 as my first car. Never any trouble with any of them and way ahead of their time. Handling was truly incredible. Lower than an old mini and wider than a Range Rover.
