Brake lights of the tow vehicle visible above the trailer therefore no offence. If reflectors on the trailer.
I shall study this evening thankyou ,appreciated+1 for Knott
This is the guy for trailer brake maintenance and replacement. I went from zero-to-hero a few weeks ago after watching some of his vids.
Really clear and thankfully, very short and no-waffle.
Thankyou , they are similar to some shorter tek type I have used for screwing odds for before , I will look up see what s available.cheersThese are popular over here, note the tiny wings above the drill section.
under the grotty ply the original boards were there...some one had lit a fire and burned through the centre of the boards ! hence ply on top. no damage to anything else with fire though.Mine need doing but the price of the board has gone throught the roof and the annoying thing is you need to waste 2 foot of an 8 foot sheet. To do the floor in the same way as the original requires a special tool as they use Huck Floortight fixings, sadly the tool costs about £1500 but there is a place that hire them out. My take is that my boards are the orginals and they are probably 20 years old.
At least you will know it's right, there is no gaurantee that buying £3k trailer means it won't need that stuff anyway. It's certainly worth doing the spring eye bushes, they aren't expensive. I stripped the springs apart and sand blasted them too.
I got pulled by vosa for this once. They were fine with the lights not working, just they were just telling me about the problem. And that they'd have prosecuted had I a load on the trailer that blocked the lights of the Landrover.
Last time I looked for trailer tyres it was nearly as cheap to just buy a complete wheel and tyre!after chucking off the old rotten floor I jacked it up and the nearside front wheel, which was hot after the journey back , checked and it was about half way on the brakes..so backed it off, wow , trailer now rolls so easy , makes you wonder why it was so tight ..removing the spare wheel told a story, good tread well except for the one flat where it was ground down to the cords
just had a quick ebay scan, four tyres about £165 to £195 for a eco tyre , as in good mileage and grip . will look at price on rimsLast time I looked for trailer tyres it was nearly as cheap to just buy a complete wheel and tyre!

I did get the tyres for mine off eBay, Kenda Mastertrail, seem to be holding up OK. Paid a local backstreet tyre place a tenner apiece to fit them.Last time I looked for trailer tyres it was nearly as cheap to just buy a complete wheel and tyre!
I found some checking out prices before I bought the trailer @£70 for wheel and tyre..but I forgot to put on bookmarkLast time I looked for trailer tyres it was nearly as cheap to just buy a complete wheel and tyre!
Assuming they are Knott, then I just bought a replacement kit (pattern not genuine, to be fair) for less than £35 off amazonI found some checking out prices before I bought the trailer @£70 for wheel and tyre..but I forgot to put on bookmark
thats a new one to me , soak in diesel when they are old, but what you say makes sence as long as it doesnt mess with the internal plastic coating , some advertise stainless I notice , any one had any experiance on these.? cheersRegarding the brake cables.
Its common to soak them in diesel for a few days before fitting them,it prevents them from freezing and helps prevent them from rusting internally.

Dosnt seem to hurt the plastic from what I have seen. Been doing it for 16 years now,it won't help the end bits but definitely stops them from freezing, which is what happens when water gets in them.thats a new one to me , soak in diesel when they are old, but what you say makes sence as long as it doesnt mess with the internal plastic coating , some advertise stainless I notice , any one had any experiance on these.? cheers
