The Bridgeport head that I just got came with a vfd on it to run the 3 phase spindle motor, the previous owner said it only spins upto around 300rpm then the motor lets some magic smoke out
So I have disconnected the vfd and put a red plug on it and plugged straight into the 3 phase converter box, when I switch it on the motor sets off but then trips the wall socket.
I’m guessing that some of the 6 wires from the motor that go to the direction switch need swapping around??
Should I use it with the vfd or straight onto the Clarke converter? Being able to control the speed will be a bonus so vfd would be more favourable.
