Switch under the bonnet failed? Easy enough to unplug and test with a multimeter.bonnet is open when it's shut on the dash
Thanks Sako, it says the front parking sensors have gone too, it came with a spare new one in assuming this is an easy enough fix.Switch under the bonnet failed? Easy enough to unplug and test with a multimeter.
Had a Trooper 3.1TD towed caravan from Santander to Roscoff as if it wasn't there. Rotted away eventually. Sad to scrap. There is one 4x4 that has galvanised chassis? Or is just a wish?Trooper is the way I'm leaning especially as my dmax was just so solid.

My mate's Navara would only do 22mpg no matter how carefully he drove it - then it snapped in half - wonderful vehiclesIf your referring to the navara mate had new one, 3 clutches then the dealer converted it to sold fly, was fine after that.
Hoping so too but shouldn't be to bad o think.I like it ,Reasonable price and hope the issues are not too annoying or expensive to fix.
Well that's actually quite encouraging as it is the 2.7 tdv6.Is that the 2.7 tdv6 engine.
If so it's done alot better than many many many others already,
So chances are it's a good one.

It has a few faults, permanently says the bonnet is open when it's shut on the dash, in typical land rover fashion the passenger side front air bag or one of the air lines failed on the way home in Glencoe accompanied by a burning smell in the cabin though the compressor seems ok so think that just might have been the heating fan not being on a high enough setting. More than a few body issues but seems very mechanically sound. Total cost £3300 with 203330 miles on the clock.
no ones mentioned the xc90 so far , or did I miss it ,, with th d5 init.
Seriously cheap!Ummmm well after saying it's not what I was after I have gone and bought one apologies to @puffernutter I got side tracked and am off the the post office now.

Dont worry having owned land rovers before and a mrk 4 vw golf I never go anywhere without break down cover. Having said that my last landy only ever broke down enough to strand someone when my dad drove it. He drove it three times each time it broke down I'm sure it was because he said he didn't like it and it did it just to spite him.@tom2207 thought I’d beat him to it

Which ones suffer cranks?
The big problems appear on the one's that haven't had the later oil pump fitted. Seems on the original version they would snap the casting, taking the timing belt with it. You'd like to think most would have been done by now - particularly on high miler, as they are easy enough (And fairly cheap) to change when doing the timing belts.Which ones suffer cranks?
