I've been thinking of putting up some CCTV. I like IP technology so thought to use IP cameras, so now I need some way to record and manage the cameras.
There's lots of cloud services for IP Cams. Bit worried about data use and they cost £3 per camera per month, or someone just snipping the Virgin cable that's blatantly visible in the front garden.
So was thinking to set up a server in the house, using something like Zoneminder https://zoneminder.com/ which installs on a home server.
Some of the venders say their software would run off a Rasberry Pi, which would be easy to hide in the house and good on electricity use, but would a Rasberry Pi really hack it?
Anyone doing anything like this?
Would also be nice to have some sort of alerts if there is movement on selected cameras.
